“One evening my husband John Di Pietro and I dreamt up an idea: to create a place that combines the best of our home country, Italy, with the beauty of where we live in Australia.

Twenty acres and eighteen passionate hard working years later our vision became a reality. Olivigna opened in late summer 2014 and is what you see today: a great Italian escape, nestled in leafy Warrandyte, just 30 minutes from Melbourne.

Our winery, olive grove, citrus orchard and kitchen garden span our grounds, along with our bocce court and cobblestone piazza, wonderful for relaxed, alfresco dinning.

In the centre is our villa, home to our elegant restaurant, intimate private dining room and chic cellar door. It is home too to our masterclass sessions, gourmet enoteca and, soon, a bespoke distillery.

Everything here inspires head chef Colin Swalwell, the estate grown herbs, fruits and vegetables, the housemade pastas, breads, condiments, olives and olive oil. He translates my traditional Italian cuisine in to modern dishes.

Whether it is for drinks, lunch, dinner a special occasion or a fabulous masterclass we welcome you to join us in our great Italian escape.”
