Our Story

“One evening my husband John Di Pietro and I dreamt up an idea: to create a place that combines the best of our home country, Italy, with the beauty of where we live in Australia.

Twenty acres and eighteen passionate hard working years later our vision became a reality. Olivigna opened in late summer 2014 and is everything you see today: a great Italian escape, nestled in leafy Warrandyte, just 30 minutes from Melbourne.

Our winery, olive grove, citrus orchard and kitchen garden span our grounds, along with our bocce court and cobblestone piazza, wonderful for relaxed, alfresco dinning.

In the centre is our villa, home to our beautiful restaurant, intimate private dining room and elegant cellar door. It is home to to our masterclass sessions, gourmet enoteca and, soon, a bespoke distillery.

Everything here inspires our chefs, the estate grown herbs, fruits and vegetables, the housemade pastas, breads, condiments, olives and olive oil. They translate my traditional Italian cuisine into modern dishes.
